Mary Ann "Ann" Ward, 78, of Hampton passed away on November 5, 2014. She was a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and retired from Badische Corporation, Williamsburg. She was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hampton and formerly served as Financial Secretary and on the Vestry. Recently she served on the Heritage Committee. She was a member of the Bracket Club and the Kecoughtan Literary Circle. She is survived by her brother, Dan Miles and wife, Winona of Midlothian; nephews, Daniel Miles and wife, Melissa, Jason Miles and wife, Afton; numerous friends; and her beloved Border Terrier, Cait. A funeral service will be conducted at St. John's Episcopal Church, 100 West Queens Way, Hampton at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014 with interment following in the church cemetery. A reception will be held afterwards in the Parish House. Memorials may be made to the Animal Aid Society at 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666, the Peninsula SPCA at 523 J.
