Mary Glynn Underkofler passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 in her home of Fort Monroe, Virginia.  She was 61 years old.  Born in Sacramento, California, Mary graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1980 and The College of Our Lady of the Elms in western Massachusetts in 1984.  She married Stephen Underkofler at St. Joseph's parish in Hampton, VA in 1988.

Mary had a passion for family, art, music, and the admirably devout faith which defined her life. Fierce in her convictions and fervent in the love for her Lord and her family, her love can only and will surely abide.

Mary is survived by her husband Stephen; children Madeline Giglio and husband Chris Giglio, Jack Underkofler, Clare Stinson and husband Scott Stinson, and Helen Underkofler; and grandchildren Michael and Fiona Giglio.  She was preceded in death by parents Philip and Sylvia Blouin Glynn.

The family will receive friends from 6PM to 7PM Wednesday, June 7th, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, June 8th, at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 7 Frank Ln, Fort Monroe, VA 23651.  A private interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk.
