They were married nearly 65 years and lived in Hampton, VA. She devoted her life to family and church and was an avid reader. Some of her favorite pastimes are reading, and collecting cookbooks and gardening. She and husband Bill loved to travel and spend time at the Outer Banks, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anne Draughon Larry. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her children and their spouses, Patricia Reed and David Waddle of Destin, FL, Graham and Linda Mae Reed of Basalt, CO and Dorothy Reed of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Reed Waddle, Alison Waddle, Brian Reed and Mitchell Reed; sister-in-law, Rosemary Freeze; nieces, Nancy Rainey Browning, Susie Barnes and Linda Hall.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 PM Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Parklawn Memorial Park. Immediately following at 11:00 AM, a memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Hampton, by Rev. Robert Taylor
