Obituary

Mary Sue was born October 21,1940 in Whittier, NC. She was known as Mary Sue Davis. She has been a Peninsula resident for several years. She was the proud owner of Butlers. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Buelah, Lloyd, Clarence, Jack, and Claude. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband Roger D. Nicholas; daughters, Peggy Sue Lyell, Wanda Sue Hardison and Kimberly Sue Hatt; brothers and sisters Meleda Wheatley, Lucy Jones and John Davis; grandchildren, Melanie Holmes, Nikki Lyell, Melissa Sue Davis, Nina Lyell, Shane McGaw, Tara Sue Wilson, Trisha Lyell and Dillon Utter; and great - grandchildren, Anna Haley, Lola, Savanna, Tyler, Trenton, Kaylee, Austin, Taylor, Hayden, CeCe, Anjali, Raymond, Robbie, Anthony, Hunter and Matthew; Family Spouses, Derrick Southcombe, Rich Cupp, Randy Hardison, Steve Hatt, Scotty Holmes, Justin Davis and Andrea McGaw.

Our family would like to give a special thanks to friends, Faye Carr and Peggy Rideout for all of their support. Longtime friends include; Bo, Jimmy Jones, Motorcycle Dave, Steve Bain & family, Keith Carr, Linda- Lou , Albert, Robert Buga, Burt and Debbie, Jimmy Rideout and several other friends including all of Mary's previous employees of Butlers.

Mary Sue was surrounded by loving family at her bedside, when she was called home to eternal rest On Friday May 19,2017. Mary Sue is loved by many family and friends. Mary had a smile that brightened anyone's day. She was a woman of pride, confidence and very strong, a giving and compassionate woman with a heart of gold. Mary went above and beyond to help others. Mary's granddaughter Melissa says "She was the living expression of God's kindness". She was an amazing mother, Wife, and Nana. She devoted much of her time to her family. No-one ever came to her without leaving better and happier. No matter how small or big she did things, it was with great love. She will forever live in our hearts.

Mary Sue is preceded in death by her Father Willie Davis ; Mother Pallie Nations Davis ; Daughter Connie Sue Southcombe ;and the Father of her four daughters, Dewey B. Wilson.
