Mary Marie Fortune, 78, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born in New York she had been a long time resident of Hampton. Mary was a certified ceramic art teacher and former owner of the Ceramic Arts Studio, Inc.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joel M. Fortune and a son, Marty Coffin. She is survived by her children, Steve Coffin, Tina Marie Irby, Wesley Coffin, John Coffin and Joel R. Fortune; brothers, Alex Michalos and George Michalos; grandchildren, Marty Lynn, Steven, Eddie, Adam, Bethany, Andrea, Andrew, Lindsey, Chad, Skyler, and Sterling; great-grandchildren, Madison, Ella, Roman, Rosalee, Ashleigh, Abigail, Maddy, Noah, and Cyrus.

A funeral service will be conducted at Noon, Friday, September 27, 2013 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with interment to follow in Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton Section. The family will receive friends Friday, prior to the service from 11-12 PM.
