Mary V. Brooks, 85, died Friday, June 15, 2018. Born in Gloucester to Eva and Thomas West, Sr., she was a longtime Hampton resident where she worked at the Coliseum Mall, first at the Picadilly Cafeteria and then at the ice cream shop. Upon retiring she moved to Williamsburg. She enjoyed reading, visiting with friends, fishing, camping, but most of all she loved Jesus.

Preceded in death by three, children, Sharon S. Garrett, Chester J. Brooks and Charles J. Brooks and a granddaughter, Terri Jo McLaughlin; survivors include her daughter, Sheena Jennings (David) of Butte, MT; her son, Cecil Brooks, Jr. of Oakland Park, FL; brothers, Thomas J. West, Jr., William L. West, Sr. (Ethna) and David W. West all of Hampton; sister, Charlotte Flickner of Pompano Beach, FL; grandchildren, Paul Brooks, John Brooks, Cecil Brooks, III, Amy Ambrosia, Christina Wilson (Bruce), JR Miller, Wendy Brown, Maxine Suarez (John), Tina Vincent (James), Sara Michelle Brooks, Jenna Kopcik-Bolton (Kevin), Melanie Brooks, Cheryl Arnold (Bobby), and Alicia Dudow; nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by three wonderful friends who helped to care for her, Wanda Treadway, Dee McQuillen, and Esther Johnson.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
