IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martin Leon
Roaseau
November 17, 1952 – November 30, 2022
Martin Leon Roaseau, 70, passed away on Nov 30, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Hampton, Marty graduated from Hampton High School in 1971. He is preceded in death by his parents Doris B. Roaseau and Mirrel B. Roaseau. Marty is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou Roaseau; daughters Lauren Roaseau and Lindsey Roaseau and his granddaughter, Chloe.
Marty was proud of his Hampton roots and had a special fondness of Phoebus where he spent many hours helping his dad at Roaseau's Bakery. After high school he worked at Old Point National Bank where he met Mary Lou. He sold real estate for Harrison & Lear and had a landscaping business. Both gave him some flexibility in his schedule for what he loved best-being a dad. He was the official dad taxi! He took his girls to school events, dance classes, soccer practice and games, and Girl Scout events-wherever they needed to be. He was a master gardener and kept his yard looking beautiful until his health slowed him down. Marty never met a stranger; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He leaves a legacy of kindness and love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. Marty will be laid to rest at Clark Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 -2 PM.
You can honor Marty's memory with a contribution to the American Lung Association or (Clark Cemetery Association at 373 Emily Dickinson S, Newport News, Virginia 23606)
