Martin L. "Sparky" Askew, 59, died Friday, October 7, 2016. A native of Hampton and lifelong Peninsula resident, Sparky was owner operator of Hampton Roads Environmental Services.

Sparky is survived by his nieces, Jenniffer and Julie; great-nieces, Mackenzie and Riley; brothers, Jack and Jerry; and sisters, Debby and Kathy.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 PM Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.
