IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha
Madsen
September 7, 1932
Martha Davis Madsen and her twin, Margaret, were born on September 7, 1932 in Hampton, Virginia. When told, her life's story would include finding the love of her life, Edward Neils Madsen. Their love story endured over 62 years. One would often see them, hand in hand, walking in their neighborhood. A short 10 months ago, she lost him. She leaves so many memories of her special loving ways to be remembered by her children, Linda Shifflette (Wayne), Debra Blaylock, and Sharon Goodwin (Wendell). Her grandchildren, Ricky Edward Blaylock (Emma), Kimberlee Blaylock (Brian), Meri Shifflette Westcott, Matthew Shifflette (Kristie), Wendi Goodwin, Melissa Goodwin Pennock (Jacob), and Graham Lipscomb, adored their G-Ma. She was blessed to have seven great-grandchildren, Charity Moore, Autumn Moore, Cameron Robertson, Jackson Neils Shifflette, Elle Shifflette, Annabel Blaylock, and just last December, Edward Madsen Blaylock. She is survived by one sister, Cary Lee Waters.
She was never happier than when her family gathered for her special Sunday dinners and for holidays at her home. She passed away peacefully on April 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved Eddie, her twin sister Margaret Cutler, and her daughter, Jean Marie Lipscomb. The family invites friends and loved ones to gather at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, April 28, at 2 p.m. for a graveside service.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
