Marlene Roberts Watts Breland when to meet her Savior on March 8, 2016. Marlene was born on August 23, 1926, in Anthras, Tennessee to Daniel Roberts and Susie Beavers/Baker Roberts. Her maternal grandparents were George W. Beavers and Maggie Christian of Whitley County, Kentucky and paternal grandparents were Felix J. Roberts and Martha Gibson of Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky.
Marlene moved to Hampton, Virginia sometime in 1942. She attended Hampton High School where she was a cheerleader. She married Edward Earlin Watts, Jr. They raised a family of five children. She worked for 25 years at Jack's Family Restaurant before retiring. Marlene was a member of Fox Hill United Methodist Church and was in good standing until she moved to Nalples, Florida in 2005 to be near her daughter, Patsy.
She enjoyed her family gatherings, boating, fishing, traveling, gardening, bingo, quilting and crocheting. She enjoyed life and loved her family and all the friends she met over the years.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Earlin Watts, Jr. and Willie Haskell Breland, her son, Danny Lee Watts, granddaughter, Susan Irvine Ashley, great- grandsons, Cody Watts, Jacob Buchanan and a sister, Marie Roberts Orr. She is survived by her children, Patsy Watts Peck Zalokar of Naples, Florida, Linda Watts Irvine Skittletharpe of Hampton, Virginia, Charles Edward "Charlie" Watts (Fallon) of Hampton, Virginia and Lynn Watts Anderson (Myron) of Panama City, Florida; her grandchildren, Mark Watts, Danny Watts, Jr., Sally Barr, Kenneth Watts, Eddie Watts, Kathleen Peck, Kimberly Peck Spooner (Kenneth), Michelle Irvine, Robin Watts Buchanan (Lee), Carol Watts Hicks, Kevin Watts, Earl Watts, Carl Watts, Charlie Watts, Michelle Watts, Misty Parsons Cox (Jim), Pamela Parsons Cox (Daniel), Jeffrey Parsons (Stacy), Jamie Parsons Viennuea (Steven) and Orion Anderson, 39 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by R. Hayden Smith Funeral in Hampton, Virginia. A Memorial Service will be held April 4, 2016 at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill 1 Salt Ponds Road at 2PM. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Hampton, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in "Memory of Marlene Breland" to Lighthouse of Collier, 2685 Horseshoe Drive South, Naples, Florida.
