Mark Christopher Smith, 50, died Friday, August 19, 2016. Born in Boston, Mass., his family moved to Hampton when he was a baby. He worked for many years at the Newport News Shipyard and the Colonna's Shipyard and had most recently gone to work at Lyon's Shipyard.

Mark loved fishing and gardening. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed "treasure hunting". He was especially proud of his collection of old bottles.

Survivors include his wife, Robin W. Smith; two daughters, Elizabeth Anne "Beth" Smith and Marguerite Regina "Macey" Smith; his parents, Richard and Catherine Smith; his sister, Monica Webb and her husband, Marshall Webb; his niece, Katie Smith; and his nephew, Matthew Bartlett. He will also be missed by his beloved dog, Harvey.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel.
