IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Randall
Hinton
May 31, 1962 – August 6, 2022
Mark Randall Hinton, a selfless, kindhearted, faithful, and devoted husband, father, OPA, son and friend passed away peacefully on August 6, 2022, at home surround by his wife, children, and family.
Mark was born on May 31, 1962, in Frankfort Germany. He was the son of Albert Randall Hinton and Christa Gisela Hinton. Mark joined the United States Airforce where he served his country and discovered his passion for airplanes and his love for flying. Mark went on to acquire his pilot's license and obtain his Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Mark started his career as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, where he traveled the world extensively. Mark spent the last 22 years working for NASA as a mechanic and later as a manager to his dedicated team of employees (Don't worry guy's the baked goods will keep coming – Mark would want that).
Mark loved to surf, fish, and spend time on the beach. He was a lifetime learner with a passion for history and genealogy. You would often find Mark tinkering in the garage, fixing something in his man cave, or preparing a delicious meal for himself and his wife (often with Harry Potter or Star Wars playing in the background).
Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 11 years Karen Smith-Hinton, daughter Christa (granddaughter Scarlet) of Hayes VA, his son Brady (Emily) of Ashburn, VA, sister Heidi of Gloucester, VA, and Mother Christa G. of Gloucester, VA.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mary View Outpatient Infusion Center. The nurses treated Mark with respect and kindness that will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank the team at Yulista for their support towards Mark and his family over the years and during this difficult time.
A private service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery to remember and honor Mark's life and his service to our country.
Mark's favorite quote was, "What will make you laugh; will make you cry." The person that once made us laugh is now the one that makes us cry, but the ones that love us never really leave us and Mark's memory will live on in our cheerful tears. He was loved by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
