HAMPTON - Marion Newman, 66, died Monday, November 23, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, Marion was a 1969 graduate of Hampton High School and longtime member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. She worked 39 years at Dixie Hospital, Hampton General Hospital and the Sentara Careplex retiring in 2009. Marion is survived by her sister, Frances Breeden; brother, George Palmer; nieces, Casi and Carolyn; and nephew, Ronald. She will be greatly missed by her family, her church and many friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Friday, November 27 at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Allen Hopkins with private interment later in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at church on Friday prior to the service from 10-12. Arrangements by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
