Marilyn Ellsworth Ambler, 84, earned her wings on June 13, 2017. Born on July 20, 1932 in Providence, RI, she traveled extensively as an Army daughter. Marilyn graduated from Virginia Tech in 1954 and went on to complete her graduate studies at the University of Maryland where she met the love of her life, John Edward Ambler. They married on June 19, 1963. Her passion was teaching and shaping young minds which she did for 36 years.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Dale Spencer (Frank Jr.), grandson Christopher Seaverns (Crystal); and great-granddaughter, Jordyn. Family and friends will truly miss he spirit and her glass always being half-full.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm Thursday, July 6, 2017 at St. John's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Mark D. Riley with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will be private.
