Marielena Macias, age 44, born September 26, 1972; died June 19, 2017, at Sentara Heart Hospital, Norfolk VA, after a long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and heart failure. Marielena passed through the valley of death peacefully in her sleep. Our Lord heard her prayers & called her to him. Many knew her as a great friend and coworker, always wanting to help where she could. Her greatest love was being a mother to her children and a Navy wife. In her life, she touched many hearts. Before her health declined, she enjoyed water parks, amusement parks and being active with her family and closest friends. She was a loving sister that could always be counted on for an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. She was a devoted military wife for 17 years and lived her life to the best of her abilities. When health permitted she loved to visit her church, Our Lady Queen of Peace. She came to embrace her faith these last 5 years working on her relationship with The Lord. She leaves behind 5 children Brittany, Briana, Michael, Joey and David Jr, along with her loving husband David Macias. She was also blessed to witness and raise her grandchild Cristian. Interment at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
