IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marie K.
Earwood
December 5, 2016
After a time of prayer and surrounded by her loving family, prayer-warrior, Pastor's wife, loving wife, mother and grandmother, Marie K. Earwood peacefully passed from this world and stepped into Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Pastor Frank Earwood; her loving children, Theresa Huskey (Alan) and Greg Earwood (Cindy); five grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye: Heather Leybold (Bryan), Holly Norman (Taylor), Bryan Earwood , Todd Earwood (fiancé Amanda), and Allison Earwood; sister, Faye Taylor; Aunt Pat Salmon, many cousins, nephews and nieces, and her beloved dog and faithful companion, Snuggles who never left her side. Marie was preceded in death by her mother and best friend, Lois Virginia Poteet; dad, James Poteet; brothers, Jimmy King and Jerry King.
Marie was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 12, 1937, and has been a resident of Hampton, Virginia for 62 years. Marie selflessly served beside Frank in ministry for 59 years. He credits her with being the faithful support behind the scenes that enabled him to minister. Fittingly for a prayer-warrior, her favorite Bible verse was, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22.
The family will receive friends from 10-12:00 Noon Friday, December 9, 2016 at Buckroe Baptist Church, 1819 N. Mallory St. Hampton, VA . A Homegoing Celebration Service will immediately follow at noon. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
