Marie Johnson Chenoweth, 93, died on December, 13 2014. A native of Alberta Georgia, Marie had been a longtime resident of Hampton. She was an avid traveler, enjoying trips to Florida and Georgia to see relatives and friends. She enjoyed crocheting and making bead jewelry. Marie loved playing Bingo and was known as the "Bingo Queen". Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Chenoweth Sr.; survivors include her son, Eugene J. Chenoweth Jr., daughter, Donna Vasser, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Bennie "Coot" Pattishall. The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Saturday, December 20 from 5-7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 21 at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
