Sue Schaff of Hampton, VA recently passed. She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on January 27, 1933 and grew up in Atlanta, GA. After high school she was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Co. and then served in the U.S. Air Force where she met her husband E.J and married in San Antonio, Texas at Kelly A.F.B. Sue was employed with Hampton City School Board and retired in 1991. Sue was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Buckroe Beach, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, E.J., her sons, Steven Schaff and Michael Schaff. Sue is survived by her daughters, Donna Schaff (Matt Greene) of Marietta, GA and Nancy Schaff of Hampton, VA; son, Bill Schaff (Sheila) of Rescue, VA; grandson, Billy Schaff of Suffolk, VA; brothers, James McCauley of Norcross, GA and Richard McCauley of Buford, GA; sister, Martha Long of Clayton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4-6PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 23 at 9:30AM. Interment in Parklawn Memorial Park will follow.
