Maria Patricia Baker, passed away on April 4, 2018 at the age of 84. Born in Bronxville, New York August 25, 1933 to the late Samuel and Monica Ghivizzani. Maria was a graduate of Hampton High School, class of 1951. She had lived in Newport News and Hampton since 1976 where she worked at Newport News Shipbuilding Dept 014. Maria retired in 1995 after 19 years of service. In her free time she enjoyed reading her books especially her Nook as well as doing needlepoint and crocheting.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, John Baker and wife Phyllis of Frederick, Maryland and William Baker and wife Terrie of Rockville, Maryland; five grandchildren, Timothy, Kaitlin, Kellie, Joseph, Theresa Nicole, and five great-grandchildren; as well as her life partner of 41 years, friend, and the love of her life David Shelton.

The family wishes to thank Riverside Hospice nurses for all of their care and compassion.

The family will receive friends at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 5-6:30PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Maria's honor to The Heart and Lung Association.
