Margaret Arlene Hubbard Stubbs, age 90, of Prince George's County, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025. Arlene was born on September 30, 1935, in Elizabeth City, Virginia, to Calvin Britton Hubbard and Helen Francis Carpenter Hubbard Carmines.
Arlene was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family above all else. She was also a passionate genealogist who loved exploring her ancestry and discovering new connections. Arlene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and generously gave of her time and talents to serve her community.
She was preceded in death by two of her children, Teresa Lynette Grow and William Jared Grow, as well as her two sisters, Novella Ann Cauley and Francis Jones. Arlene is survived by her son, Calvin Kenneth Grow, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Thompson Grow; six grandchildren: Annie (Gens) Linton of Denton, TX, Scott (Viaola) Grow of Boise, ID, Laura (Antonio) Roque of Frederick, MD, Matthew (Samantha Anderson) Grow of West Seattle, WA, Tyler (Rachael) Grow of Martinsburg, WV, and Jacob Grow of Pittsburgh, PA; and nine great-grandchildren: David (Courtney) of West Jordan, UT, Calum, Lincoln, and Maxwell Grow of Boise, ID, Sunny of Provo, UT, Kenzie (serving an LDS mission in Chile), Janie of Provo, UT, Christian, and Bryce Linton of Denton, TX.
Arlene will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private interment and graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, Virginia. In place of flowers, contributions may be made to churchofjesuschrist.org/donations, unit #252662, Kenzie Linton.
