Obituary

Margaret Graves "Peggy" Blake, 79, died Monday, June 12, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she had been a Hampton resident since 1959 where she was a member and organist for 25 years at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Peggy began work in the New York Telephone Company and transferred to C&P Telephone Company retiring in 1988 after 31 years. She spent the next 16 years preparing the Hampton City Council meeting packets. Always active, Peggy was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, Buckroe Junior Women's Club, Buckroe Sr. Women's Club, the Hampton Transportation Safety Commission, Hampton Arts Commission and Hampton Arts Foundation, as well as a Trustee for the Shelton Home.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 53 years Frank J. Blake; sister-in-law, Diane Graves; and 5 nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 17, 2017 with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-6:30 pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea School.
