IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Madelon "Bootsie"
Stillwell
June 10, 1934 – December 5, 2018
Madelon "Bootsie" Stillwell completed her journey here on earth on December 5th, 2018 with her family by her side, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
Born on Fort Monroe, on June 10, 1934, Bootsie was a Hampton resident for most of her life. She overcame Polio at the young age of 10 and has been resilient her entire life. As a proud Hampton High School graduate, she continued to stay in touch with her Crabber classmates at the class reunions she so enjoyed!
Bootsie married Bill Stillwell in December 1954 and they remained married 41 years. They were very involved in their children and grandchildren's activities. Mama was the "Team Mom" for many teams over the years. She was a devout catholic and practiced her faith until the end.
She was preceded in death by her her husband Bill; and parents, Capt. John "Scoop" Morris and Mary Elizabeth Morris. Bootsie leaves to mourn her loss, two sisters, Betti Corso and Kitty Smith. Carrying on our mother's memory, spirit and laughter are her four devoted children, Billy (Julia), Jeff (Tina), Joe, and Elizabeth (Keith) all of Hampton. Mimi/Grandmother will be greatly missed by her 12 grandchildren, Billy, Kristen, Ben, Gearon, Madelon, Adam, Brianna, Cory, Taylor, Alex, Austin and Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Billy, Ella, Landon and Trace, and one on the way.
Mama was a kind soul who always had kind words. In this world, where people are quick to criticize, our mother was quick to compliment.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of the Devonshire for their loving care over the last four years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.
In our mother's memory, please consider contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
God Bless you Mama, rest in peace
