Macon "Louise" Wampler passed away on January 17, 2017 at the age of 87. She was a lifelong resident of Hampton and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Lou worked for the school system driving buses and later volunteered at the VA Medical Center.

Preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Wampler, her son, Robert Wampler, and her daughter, Macon "Linda" Summers; survivors include her granddaughters, Tracie Kirkpatrick (Keith) and Kelli Morton (Mark); her great-grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan, William, and Skye; as well as a number of extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Julie "Maw" for the love and care she gave Lou.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, January 23, 2017 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Terry Spencer.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 4-6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
