IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luis T.
Ruck
August 30, 1938 – November 8, 2025
Luis T. Ruck, 87, transitioned from this life to his eternal reward on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born August 30, 1938, in Pisco, Peru, Luis came to the Washington, D.C. area in the late 1950s to attend college. At a social function, Luis met the love of his life, Monica Ortiz, and soon they were married. Luis received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and worked as an RF Engineer for various companies in the defense industry. Luis was actively involved in his children's lives. Whether it was coaching his sons in soccer, driving his daughter to dance sessions and auditions, or just being available to give some guidance and advice, Luis was there.
Although Luis was a happy husband, father and a successful professional, there was a void in his life that was filled when he believed and obeyed God's plan of salvation. Upon hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, Luis repented of his sins, was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and was filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit. From that point on, his desire was to know, serve, praise, worship and talk about the one true God, Jesus Christ.
Luis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly by those who knew him.
Luis is survived by two of his children, Luis I. Ruck (Kathy), Roberto T. Ruck (Heather); eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sister, Carlota Samuel (Garth) and brother, Federico Ruck. Luis was preceded in death by his wife, Monica A. Ruck; and his daughter, Patricia E. Nevius.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 14 at 1 PM at The Messiah Center, 1421 W. Pembroke Ave, Hampton, VA, followed by interment at Parklawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 13 6-7 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Crossroads an Apostolic Church, 9 Silver Isles Blvd, Hampton, VA 23664.
