Lucille Clark Jarrell, 92, passed away January 19, 2019. Born in Madison County where she grew up and later married James Jarrell. They moved to Hampton to live, work, and raise a family. Lucille enjoyed gardening. She shared many flowers and vegetables that she tended with others and encouraged others to plant and enjoy them. Lucille had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed bowling, clogging, and square dancing for many years.

As a charter member of Community Presbyterian Church, Lucille was involved with many activities and cherished the friendships with church family.

Preceded in death by her husband James; parents, Lester and Ruth Clark; brothers, JP, Malvin, and Brian Clark; sister, Mary Brown; and grandson, Demonte Chambers.

Lucille is survived by son, Steve Jarrell (Kathy); daughter, Sandra Brady (Don); grandchildren, Donnie (Ann), Jamie (Maria) Brady, and Jennifer, Jimmy, and Kimberly Jarrell; great grandchildren, Caleb, Christen, Jayden, and Brianna Jarrell, Ethan and Olivia Brady, and Gavin and Alexis Good. She is also survived by her sisters Fay Austin, Emily Williams, and Mildred Seale, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave. in Hampton. Immediately following at 11:00 am, a funeral service will be conducted in funeral home chapel. The family wishes in lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
