Lt. Col. Gerald A. "Jerry" Warnock, 83, (USAF, retired) died Sunday, August 2, 2015. Born in Kentucky, he had been a Hampton resident since 1968 where he was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Jerry retired from the Air Force and then worked in property management retiring from Harrison and Lear. An avid golfer, he was a 40+ year member of the Langley Golf Course and played for over 10 years at Kiln Creek. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Wardlaw M Warnock and daughter, Louise W. Gray. He is survived by his son, Al Warnock and wife Diane, and their children, Katherine Lynn Warnock and Michael Paul Warnock; son-in-law, Gary Gray and his children, Ella Elizabeth Gray, Megan Wardlaw Gray, Andrew Morgan Gray, Kimberly Haddock Gray McNett, and Josiah Allen Gray; and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Starr Moore, Angelina Callic Moore and Scarlett Louise Gray. The family will receive friends, Sunday from 4-6 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 10, 2015 at St. John's Episcopal Church. Memorial contributions should be sent to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
