Louise Fowler, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior with her entire family by her side on October 1, 2014. Born in Lagrange, NC, she was the oldest of 17 children and a longtime Hampton resident where she was the oldest member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class. She retired in 1980 from Francis Asbury School after 25 years of service in the cafeteria. She was a life member of both the American Legion Post 48 Ladies' Auxiliary and the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies' Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fowler and her son, Clarence "Jerry" Jernigan; survivors include her sons, John Fowler, Jr. and his wife, Amy and Thomas Fowler and his wife, Marcia; and her daughter, Irene Griffin and her husband, Ken, all of Hampton; her sister, Alma Thompkins of Lagrange, NC; her brother-in-law, Warren Fowler of Norfolk; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Gene, Cindy, Mary, Bubba, Barb, and Kenney; great-grandchildren, Gab, Annie, Bryce, Tyler, Breana, Ellé, Jake, Maddie, Jaelyn, Josh, Erika, and Evan; and her great-great-grandson, Logan. The children would like to thank her great-granddaughter (Annie) and Tiffany and Linda Sadowski, for the exceptional care that was given. The family will receive friends at noon on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM conducted by Rev. Eric Vault and Pastor Becky Holland. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
