February 25, 1984 – March 11, 2018
Lonnie Ashton Hearne, beloved son of Christy and David Hearne, passed away Sunday March 11, 2018 after a short illness. He was born February 25, 1984 in Hampton, Va. In addition to his parents, Lonnie is survived by his beloved brothers Austin and Spencer Hearne of Yorktown, Va., girlfriend Laura Tobey, Grandmother Dee Price, Grandfathers Dr. Walter Price and Richard Hueschen, Aunts Charlene "TC" Wentland and Gillian Davis, Uncles Dr. Steven Hearne (Sandra), Brad Lindsay (Laura), Matthew Price (Heather), Kevin and Kory Lindsay, Aunts Jane Camp (Jim) Patsy Brown (Frank), Julia Arndt (Fred) cousins Thomas Camp, Jordan Wentland, Jay Brown, Lindsay, Trevor and Karl Arndt, Erika and Mikaela Burkholder and too many friends to mention. Lonnie was preceded in death by his Grandfathers Lonnie G. Hearne, Christopher A. Lindsay Jr., grandmother Sheila Hearne Hueschen and Uncles Mike Davis and Frank Hearne. Lonnie graduated from Grafton High School in 2002 and earned his degree from CNU. He worked for GNC at Fort Eustis. Lonnie was a regular member of the Water's Edge Church in Yorktown, Va. and enjoyed spending time at church and at group sessions with his mother and girlfriend. Lonnie loved to play and watch sports and was a founding member of the Coventry Blokes. He was a huge fan of the UNC Tar heels, Redskins and Manchester United. Lonnie also enjoyed going to the YMCA. Lonnie had a kind, giving and beautiful soul and never met a stranger. His strong faith in God helped him overcome many of life's obstacles. Although Lonnie's passing is devastating to his family and friends, his awesome spirit will live on in our hearts, souls and minds forever, for love never dies. Lonnie's final act of love and compassion was to be an organ donor and he caused miracles with his gifts. "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you in my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10. The family want to thank the dedicated, loving people at Riverside MICU for their tireless efforts in doing everything possible to save Lonnie.
