Lola Frances Dorsey Greene, 96, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. She was the daughter of Eva Mills and Thomas Archibald Dorsey. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Ernest Lewis Greene, Sr. Frances was a Hampton native who attended Syms Eaton Academy, John M. Willis School, Wythe Junior High School and Hampton High School. She was married at East Hampton Methodist Church in 1941 and a life-long member of the church. She was faithful in her love of the Lord and read her bible daily. As a wonderful homemaker, Frances was an avid seamstress, quilt maker, cook and baker. Her family will always remember the delicious meals and desserts, recipes that have been shared over the years. Another favorite she enjoyed was traveling the world with Ernest. But her greatest joy was her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She truly was happiest whenever they visited.
Cherishing her memory are her daughter, Gloria Greene Sheppard (Larry) and son, E. L. Greene, Jr (Diane). Frances is also survived by her grandchildren, Aimee Sheppard Brinkac (Christopher), Larry Sheppard, Jr. (Alison), Jason Greene (Deana), and Justin Greene (Barbara), and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Newport Convalescent Center for the wonderful care they gave to Frances.
