Linda Gayle Long, age 53, of Newport News, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Memorial services will be held  at 7 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, with Pastor Cecil Collier of the Spirit and Truth Church officiating. Ms. Long was born and raised in Knoxville, TN, and she deeply loved and missed the mountains of East Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nancy Long of Knoxville, and son, Jake Wilson, of Hampton. She is survived by: son, James Wilson, of Hampton; brother, Michael Long and wife Donna Long, of Kimberlin Heights; brother, Richard Long, of Knoxville; nephew, Richard Long, of Seymour; nieces, Caitlyn Long and Brianna Long, of Kimberlin Heights, and Heather Long and son Logan Henry, of Seymour. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
