Linda Jones, beloved wife, mother, friend. Linda was born in 1925, in Bristol, VA, to parents Fredrick and Bertha Zimmerman and died in Hampton, VA, on March 20, 2014. The intervening years were full of family, travel, hobbies (writing, drawing, bonsai trees, and more), community service, and church activities. She authored a book about travels with her family in the 1950s in Tripoli, Libya, entitled Assignment: Tripoli and penned under the name L. L. Zimmerman.

Linda was predeceased by her husband of 63 ½ years, John; daughter, Peggi Stroud; and granddaughter Tanya Kowalchuk. Surviving children are Patti Kowalchuk of Bristol, VA; son, John Jones of Mechanicsville, VA; daughter Jill Jones, of Milford, CT; grandson and family Andy and Ellen Kowalchuk, Mary, Lydia, Sam, Elizabeth, Timmy.

Visitation will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 5 to 6 p.m. There will be a graveside service and interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, TN, on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2 p.m.
