Lillian Ann Goodyear Routten, 83, died Friday, April 29, 2016. Born in Elizabeth City County, she was a longtime Fox Hill resident where she was a member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies' Auxiliary, was an avid garage saler and antique collector and she loved gardening and cooking and was the primary pie maker for Checker's Restaurant. Above all, she loved her family and always had their best interest at heart.
Preceded in death by her parents, Love Brantley and Monte Lillian Goodyear; two brothers, Lineau and James Ronald Goodyear, and a sister, Maxine Myers; survivors include her husband, Waverly Routten whom she married on August 30, 1950; a daughter, Pamela Smoot (Roy); two sons, Bobby Routten (Theresa) and Tommy Routten (M'Lissa); her sister, Beth McKendree; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1-2PM Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Eric J. Vaudt. Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery.
