Lewis V. Buford, 84, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009.
Born in Tanner, Ala., to Will and Lilah Thompson Buford, he had been a resident of Hampton for over 60 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Rosalind Buford; his children, Lawrence Gentry, Gwen Nicole "Duchess" Buford-Spigner, Anthony Gentry, and Lavelle Fields; six grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Fletcher, Frances Derrick, and Mary Coleman; and brother, Percy Lee Buford.
Lewis' life will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, in Hampton. Inurnment will be in Quantico National Cemetery, with full military honors, at a later date.
