Lester E. Hall, 81, died peacefully at home under hospice care, Monday, August 10, 2015. Born in Franklin Co, VA, Lester was raised in Botetourt County where he later served as a school principal for many years. He received his BA from Roanoke College and Masters in Education from Radford University. Lester has lived in many communities since leaving Botetourt as his wife has served as a United Methodist pastor throughout the Virginia Conference, moving to Hampton in July of 2014. Lester is survived by his wife, Rev. Gay Brown Hall; sister, Alice Faye Lebow of Roanoke; and brother, Howard Carlton Hall of Roanoke. A celebration of Lester's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 99 E. Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669. The service will be officiated by The Reverend Dr. R. Franklin Gillis. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Redbird Mission School, 54 Queensdale Center, Beverly, KY 40913-9607.
