CMS (USAF retired) Leon Robert "Bob" Overton , passed away at Poquoson, VA, on  Jan. 26, 2016. Bob was born on Sep. 24, 1920, in Leon, IA, of Leon Robert Overton and Olive Ina Estes. He was married on Feb. 17, 1943, at Meridian, MS, to Phyllis Joyce Cottrell.

Bob entered the US Army Air Corps on Dec.  28, 1940 as an airplane mechanic. During WWII he was  sent to England with  the  404th Fighter Bomber Group and followed it through Belgium and France. He retired on Jun 1, 1963 and  moved with his family  to Ayer, MA.  During his time there, he owned and operated a service station and then became a computer technician. In 1999 he and his wife made their final move to Hampton, VA. Bob loved to fish, hunt, work on cars, and golf.

Bob was pre deceased by his parents, his wife Phyllis, a daughter Beth, two sisters Arlene and Irene, and  a brother Orel. He is survived by his daughters Joyce Wilson (Woody), Hampton, VA; and Janice Tilman, Kansas City, MO; sons Stephen (Beth), Colorado Springs, CO; and Paul (Shirley), McCall, ID;  7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
