Obituary

Leland Eugene Bryant, 86, passed away March 16, 2024. He was born on July 17, 1937, in Halfway, Missouri. Serving in the US Army brought him to the Hampton Roads area where he met the love of his life and resided since 1958. Lee completed the Apprentice School and was employed by NASA for 45 years.

A significant part of his life was spent working and restoring many cars, especially his 55 Chevy, coaching women's softball, reading, and planting trees, tomatoes, and flowers. He enjoyed reciting poetry and singing and listening to old Gospel hymns. His greatest loves were playing golf with Margaret, taking trips with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by Margaret Powell Bryant, his wife of 63 years; as well as his parents, Loren Lee Bryant and Ruth Harmon Bryant and his two brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Michael Eugene Bryant (Candace), Michele Bryant Price (John) and five grandchildren Matthew, Jennifer, Daniel, Julie and Jessica.

Arrangements are in the care of Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions. Services will be private.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of The Hidenwood Assisted Living Facility for their dedicated care and companionship provided during the last months of his life. We would also like to thank Riverside Hospice for their professional care during this difficult time.
