Obituary

Leah A. Dominguez, 58, died Thursday, September 21, 2023, surrounded by her family.   Born in Tennessee, she was the daughter of Jess and Lakie Hodge.  Leah graduated from Kecoughtan High School, Class of 1983; and went on to earn two degrees, one as a registered nurse from Hampton University and one in business from Old Dominion University. During her nursing career, she worked at DePaul Medical Center, was a Nursing Instructor at Fortis College, and most recently was the Patient Care Manager at New Century Hospice before her health declined.

Preceded in death by her parents and beautiful granddaughter, Ashlyn Hedden; she leaves to cherish her memory, sons Samuel Hedden (Amber) and Alex Hedden (Alexis); her brother, Jay Hodge (Sherri); grandchildren, Ajae Hedden, Sammie Hedden, Lailynn Hedden, and Layne Hedden; nephew, Tyler Hodge; and second Mom, Mary Davis; as well as a host of dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, Hampton by the Rev. Eric J. Vaudt and Pastor Gary Moore.  A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Leah's name to Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, 501 Beach Road, Hampton, VA 23664.
