Laura V. Anderson, 94, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025.  Born in Pennsylvania to parents, Preston and Maude Smith, she had been a Hampton resident for many years.  Laura was a member of Bethany Methodist Church, Hampton; and she was very active with the Order of the Amaranth, serving as Grand Royal Matron and the Order of the Eastern Star Colonial Chapter #40 alongside her late husband, Andy Anderson, Sr.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, Robert "Andy" P. Anderson, Sr.; daughter Susan Renee Zuckernick; son-in-law, Richard Zuckernick); grandson, Daniel Shannon; and her sister and two brothers; she leaves to cherish her memory,  daughters Laura "Dianne" Moon (Bill) and Karen Glass (Craig Bowers); son, Robert P. Anderson, Jr. (Bernadette); grandchildren, Amanda Frederick (Zach), Richard "Paul" Moon (Amanda), Kendall Bridges (Jeremy), Samantha DuBourg (Bill), Stephanie Glass Clark (Mike), Krystle Kissinger (Anthony), Elizabeth Ebinger, Allison Kissinger, Michael Kissinger, Samantha Overman (John), January Brown (Ray), Jonathon Shannon (Brittany), and Michael Barnes; thirty great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.  Laura leaves behind a legacy of cherished friendships from her dedicated service to others through her church and masonic organizations.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton.  The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21 from 5 – 7 PM with Order of the Eastern Star Rites at 6:30 at the funeral home.  A private burial will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.  The funeral service will be live streamed on the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Facebook page or click here at 2 PM.
