Lanny A. Scott, 74, died Thursday, December 1, 2016. Born in Johnson City, TN, he had been a Peninsula resident most of his life. He retired from SupShip as an Electrical Inspector in 2002 and had served in the US Army. Lanny enjoyed golfing and had been a local DJ for many years, and many may remember him as an Elvis impersonator.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Scott; a brother, Ron Scott (Sue); three brothers-in-law, Thomas Green, Bob Green (Bea), and Charles Green (Anne); sisters-in-law, Rita Scott and Sandra Green; six nieces; five nephews; seven great-nieces; four great-nephews; several cousins; and many good friends.

The family would like to thank Grace Hospice, VPA and Lanny's doctors for the excellent care he received during his illness.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 PM on Friday, December 9, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel.
