Lakie Irene Paxton, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019.  Born in Saltville, VA, she had been a resident of Hampton for 52 years.  She was a member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church.

Lakie was preceded in death by her first husband, Jess E. Hodge, Jr.; parents, Virginia and K.E. Smith; and brother, Essie E. Smith.  She is survived by her children, Leah A. Dominguez and her husband Jose, and Jess E. Hodge III and his fiancé Sherrie King; grandchildren, Samuel J. Hedden and his wife Amber Dawn, Alex Hedden and Tyler Hodge; and great-grandchildren, Antwann Pelham, Samuel Hedden, Lailynn Hedden and Kayla Watts.

A service to remember and celebrate Lakie's life will be11:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church in Hampton.
