Kevin Peter Shea, Hampton attorney, devoted father of two daughters,and fiercely loyal friend died at his home July 1,2022.  He was 79. Kevin was born in Miami, Florida on April 3, 1943.  His parents (Patrick and Rita Shea) moved to Hampton when Kevin was a young child. He attended St. Rose of Lima elementary school in Hampton and graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in Newport News in 1960. He earned his bachelor's degree (and the rights to tell a thousand colorful tales) from Villanova University in 1965. Kevin earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in New Orleans in 1968, where he was also a Motorola Mystery Salesman. He served the Virginia State Bar for over 50 years.

Kevin remained a life-long Villanova men's basketball fan and was active in his local alumni group. He joined the Knights of Columbus as an undergraduate and was a member of the KoC in Ocean View for several decades. Kevin was a member and strong supporter of the Hampton Yacht Club for his entire adulthood. He spent time there with his children, grandchildren and friends enjoying good company.

Kevin was preceded death by his grandson, Austin Craver, and wife, Joan Dunton Shea. He is survived by daughters Meghan Foley (Jermy) and Kerry Ambrosino (Chris), grandchildren, Paige Shea, Liam Ambrosino, Daphne Ambrosino, Jeremy Foley and Joseph Foley; sisters Rita S. Guffey (Larry) and Patricia S Harris (Robert) and stepchildren Jennifer Brandt Watkins, Theresa Sabo Degraw, Eric Sabo, Phillip Sabo and their families and many beloved cousins.

Kevin was generous and good hearted. He found joy in the people in his life and was his best self in the company of loved ones. Kevin was one of a kind and will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, gifts could be made to the Hampton Yacht Club's Junior sailing program, where he, his children and grandchildren learned to sail or a charity of your choice.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 10 from 2-4 pm at the Hampton Yacht Club.
