IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kerry Ann
Roche
July 29, 1962 – January 30, 2021
Our beautiful, strong, brave, and always loving angel here on Earth, Kerry Ann Roche passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Newport News, from complications of COVID. She was born on July 29, 1962 in Wurzburg, Germany, the second daughter of Col. David Roche and Eileen Ann (O'Connell) Roche. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Brendan Michael Roche who happily met her in Heaven. She is survived by her sisters Colleen O'Connell Roche and Erin Mary Matlock (nieces Maggie and Grace) of Fairfax Va. And her brother Timothy Patrick Roche of Newport News Va. She lived in many places in her life; Germany, Rhode Island, Maine, Texas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kansas, Hawaii, and Maryland before moving to Hampton in 1984 and Newport News in 2005. She will be remembered for beautiful Irish twinkling eyes, her amazing smile, joy filled laughter and big happy "Hi!", as well as her quick replies to the compliments ("You are so pretty!" "I know it."). She said "Thank you Honey" from the moment she woke up until she went to bed: for helping her get dressed, get in/out of her wheelchair, eat/drink, being given her meds, brush her hair/teeth and even to accept the flag at our father's burial.
Kerry will be laid to rest with her parents and brother in Hampton Veteran's Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 13th at 11am. Because of the horrible disease COVID that took Kerry from us, we will not be able at this time to gather together to celebrate her life. Therefore, we ask that you respectfully show your love and support by attending the graveside service virtually. The Facebook live link will be posted when the video begins on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Catholic Charities https://www.cceva.org/ or the charity of your choice, in Kerry's name. The family also invites you to celebrate her life and her impact on those around her through acts of kindness to those around you. Kerry was filled with pure love and the light of God. She shared it with everyone she ever met.
