Kenneth Lee Hunter, 93, died Thursday, March 24, 2016. Born in Council Hill, OK, he had been a Hampton resident since 1960 and was a member of Peninsula Church of Christ. Mr. Hunter served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and went on to retire from the USAF. After his military service he worked for the state prison system in Oklahoma.
Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Hunter; and is survived by his wife, Shirley Hunter; sons, Ronald D. Hunter and wife Tricia, and Kenneth L. Hunter and wife Glenda; Linda Rhyne and husband Clyde; brothers, Robert Hunter and Max Hunter; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:30-7 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.  A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Peninsula Church of Christ, 9 Silver Isles Blvd, Hampton with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
