Kay Quinn Routten, 82, went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2024 and is at peace now rejoicing in heaven. She was born in Hampton, VA on October 3, 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie S. Routten III; and her parents, William and Irene Quinn; Survivors include her brother, Dr. John Quinn and wife Elizabeth, three children, son, Richard Routten and wife Carol; daughter, Tammy Messina and husband David; daughter, Kathy Routten and husband David Borowski; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest pleasure in life was sharing time with her family.

She graduated from Hampton High School in 1959.  She was a dedicated member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending Bible Study and spent many years singing in the Choir.

She had a passion for horses and enjoyed showing them growing up. Her love for animals turned to breeding and showing Mastiffs. Kay enjoyed training her dogs at Merrimac Dog Training Club where she was a lifetime member.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 6-7:30PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church at 2PM. Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kay's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Animal Aid Society in Hampton, VA.
