Karen Elaine Vogel, 83, of Smithfield passed away July 14, 2023. She was a native of Brackenridge, PA and a longtime area resident. Karen retired from the Hampton VA Medical Center after 20 years where she was a Health Benefits Advisor. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds.

Karen was preceded in death by the love of her life, Sonny Vogel, her husband of 27 years; her parents, and her sister. She is survived by her children, Joel Vogel (Debora), Jon Vogel (Angela); and Jennifer Vogel (Clyde Holt); grandchildren, Travis Vogel (Brittany), Emily Junkins (Dr. Kevin Junkins), and Brian Vogel; and great-grandchildren, Clayton Junkins and Lala Junkins.

A celebration of life will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 3PM.
