June Johnson Spencer, 88, widow of Thomas Russell Spencer, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 2, 2014. A native of Fox Hill and lifelong resident of Hampton, June was a member of Wallace Memorial United Methodist Church where she loved music and to sing in the choir. June is survived by her daughters, Lisa S. Meehan and Elizabeth S. Bassett and husband Ozzie; sister, Betty Griffith; grandchildren, Jessica Reynolds, Jeremy Price, Jonathan Price, Corey Meehan, Rajitha Brewer, Rajini Meehan, and Zachary Meehan; and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Coliseum Convalescent Center for their care and support during her time there. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 5, 2014 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
