Judy Clark Riss, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 19, 2025. A lifelong resident of Fox Hill, she was born November 18, 1942, to Alonza W. "Babe" Clark and Manola Patterson Clark. Judy graduated from Hampton High School in June of 1961and married Emil "Sonny" Riss in December 1961. They were married 62 years. Judy worked for Hampton City Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retiring she went back to work part time at HCS for another 10+ years. She was an active member of the Fox Hill Historical Society and Clark Cemetery Association. She loved to attend her husband, sons and grandsons sporting events and was lovingly known as "Nanny." She grew up on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and loved her pool days and gardening. Over her life with Sonny, she had numerous boats named after her. There was always a "Miss Judy" on the water.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sonny; grandson, Cameron Riss and siblings Carole Sue Garlock and Shirley Bunting; she leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Emil "Skip" Riss and wife Angela and Steven Riss and wife Heather; grandson Hunter Riss; great-grandchildren, Cameron Riss, Jr and Lane Hunter Riss. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2025, at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church; with a visitation from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the church.  Private interment at Clark Cemetery; friends and family are invited to remain at the church for a reception after the service.
