Obituary
Joyce Avery Hinnant 86- long- time resident of Hampton VA. Passed away on January 19, 2017 with family by her side at St. Francis Nursing Home.
Born in 1930 in Newport News. Joyce was full of life and had a love of many things: Love of Christ, her family and friends, the beach, good chocolate, great food, good music, singing, a love of exploring and traveling the world and during her life was able to travel to many destinations. She was a member of Northside Christian Church, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Confederacy, and a Sweet Adeline's.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard (Sr.) and Tucker B. Avery, her brother Richard Avery Jr., infant daughter Patricia Hinnant, sons Howard Stephen Hinnant Jr. and Henry T. Hinnant (T.C.). Left to cherish her memory are her son Troy Hinnant, Grandchildren Stephanie Hinnant Terwilliger husband Ron, Jeremy Hinnant wife Brandi, Howard Stephan Hinnant III and Hunter Hinnant, and 7 Great grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place 3:00 PM Wednesday January 25, 2017 at Northside Christian Church. Family would like to offer special thanks to St. Francis Nursing Home, Jewish Family Services, and Northside Christian Church for the special care and love given to Joyce during her extended illness. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton, 757-825-8070.
