Josie Dunton, 98, passed away on February 24, 2015. She was born in Rescue, Virginia and had been a longtime resident of Hampton. Josie had worked for years at Benthall's Market in Phoebus. She was a member of Restoration Church, Phoebus Baptist and loved teaching Sunday School. Preceded in death by her husband; Francis, daughters, Dale and Bobbi, and her grandson Derrick; she is survived by her son, William; grandchildren, Tony, Blaine, Candice, and Heather; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1 2015 at 2 PM. An interment in Hampton National Cemetery will follow later.
