Joshua Adam Dibuono, 19, passed away from a senseless act of violence on Monday, March 26, 2018. Josh was born on September 30, 1998 and was a lifelong resident of Hampton, where he graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 2016.
Josh is the beloved son of Nick Dibuono and Anita Dibuono; loving brother of Jessica Wildey (William), Cody Swafford (Jalina), Christina Carnegie Athey and Robert Carnegie; proud uncle to Emma Rae Wildey and Rowan Swafford; devoted fiancé to Caitlin D. Matthews; step-son to Tracey Dibuono and step brother to Alyssa and Jake Williamson. He will also be deeply missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and furbabies, Dixie and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Nick and Ocie Dibuono, Rose Black as well as his step-grandmother, Octavia Dibuono.
Joshua was an employee of Stanley Steemer where he worked hard to quickly become an outstanding employee. He loved his job and his work family.
Josh enjoyed many hobbies but racing bikes and fishing were his passion. He biked at the Hampton BMX Track and is a former Virginia State Champion. He could also often be found at the Buckroe Fishing Pier enjoying and teaching loved ones to fish. Josh was a people person who loved spending time with family and friends.
The family will have visitation from 6-7:30 Monday, April 2, 2018 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. A memorial service to celebrate Josh's life will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Faith Community Church, 657 Harpersville Rd. in Newport News.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hampton BMX, 5749 S. Ottawa Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. This was one of Josh's most beloved places.
